After adding your card or cards to your wallet, you can use Curve Pay on your Apple or Android device to make secure, contactless payments anywhere you see the contactless payment symbol.

## **What is Curve Pay**

Curve Pay is a digital wallet for contactless payments. Think Apple / Google Pay, with all the benefits of Curve such as cashback with the convenience of contactless payments and all your cards in a single secure single wallet.  🚀

Curve Pay works with standard credit and debit card readers, and is accepted worldwide wherever Mastercard® is used. 

### **Who’s eligible for Curve Pay?**

Currently, Curve Pay is available on iOS and Android devices across the **United Kingdom** and **European Economic Area (EEA)** countries.

### **Supported devices**

You can use Curve Pay on Android and iOS devices supporting contactless payments. Please note a small number of Android devices do not support Curve Pay. This includes devices with less well known OSs and those on non-Global ROMs 

❗️**Important!** You won’t be able to use Curve Pay if:

*   You’re using a rooted **Android** device.
    
*   If, on an **iOS** device you try to set up **Curve Pay** outside of the **EEA**. You can still make payments if it is set up previously.
    
*   You don’t have **biometrics** or screen lock enabled on your phone.
    
*   You don’t have the contactless **Near Field Communication (NFC)** feature enabled on your phone.

## **Setting up Curve Pay**

### **Getting Started with Android**

To use Curve Pay with your Android device you need to enable it in the Curve app first.

You can do this by tapping on the Curve Pay banner at the top of "**LaunchPad**" or by selecting **LaunchPad >** [**Curve Pay Card**](https://onelink.curve.com/1WAh/w3cfdz2w) and tapping "**Enable Curve Pay**".

Once you've started setup by tapping “**Enable Curve Pay**”, continue on the next prompt to progress to setting up your wallet. When the setup is complete, you’ll be prompted to "**Open settings**" and select **Curve** as the **default** **payment** app.

### **Getting Started with** **iOS**

To use Curve Pay on your iOS device and make contactless payments, you will need to enable it in the Curve app first. 

You can do this by tapping on the Curve Pay banner at the top of "**LaunchPad**" or by selecting **LaunchPad >** [**Curve Pay Card**](https://onelink.curve.com/1WAh/w3cfdz2w) and tapping "**Set Curve Pay for Contactless**". 

Tap on the "**Set Curve Pay as the default Wallet**", and from there you’ll be prompted to "**Open settings**" and select **Curve** as the **default** **payment** app.

❗️**Heads up:** the below applies for iOS devices:

*   You can only enrol into Curve Pay if you’re based in the EEA and your iOS device is running iOS 17.4 or later. 
    
*   Your Apple ID must also be based in EEA

## **Paying with Curve Pay**

Once you have enabled Curve Pay, to make contactless purchases all you need to do is:

*   Hold your device near the payment reader
    
*   If asked, then verify your Curve Pay transaction via an authentication method (fingerprint, face ID, amongst others) 
    
*   You will see a ‘**success**’ tick to confirm your payment has been authorised
    

What happens if there is a payment error with Curve Pay? 

*   Check that you’ve not locked your card, or that it's not blocked. You can do this by going to the [**Curve Pay Card**](https://onelink.curve.com/1WAh/w3cfdz2w) **applet** in Launchpad.
    
*   Check that you have enough funds for the transaction on your underlying funding card in the Curve wallet.
    
*   Use your physical Curve Card or your underlying funding card to tap to pay

You may be required to confirm it is you who is trying to make the payment. To authenticate the transaction, click on ‘**confirm it’s you**’. 

If you cannot confirm, your Curve Card will be suspended and will be prompted to go to the Curve Wallet to unlock your CurvePay Card or contact Curve Help Centre for more information.

## **How do I switch the payment card when using Curve Pay?** 

Curve Pay will charge the selected payment method in your Curve Pay app.  If you need to change the payment card for your Curve Pay payment: 

1.  Open the Curve app and head to the “**Wallet**” tab
    
2.  Scroll between your payment cards and select the one you want to complete the payment with
    
3.  Tap the card to make sure it’s active and complete the payment by tapping your phone on the  reader
    

**On iOS devices**, you can switch your payment card by using the Card Carousel in the Pay app once you double tap to pay\* 

\*You need to be online to do this. Note that this will set your default funding card in the Curve App to this card.

## **Troubleshooting Curve Pay**

  

### **Using Curve Pay on iOS for public transit (mass transit)**

When making contactless payment on public transport, such as TfL, you will be prompted to verify your first transaction through the Curve Pay screen. 

Once this initial authentication is complete, you will only be required to verify your payments once every 14 days. 

### **What happens if I have to reinstall the app, or clear my data?**

If you have to reinstall the Curve app or clear your data, you’ll have to set up Curve Pay again.
