# PayPal in the Curve Wallet

We're excited to announce that Curve has partnered with PayPal to bring PayPal offline and into the real world 🎉

## **How does PayPal work with Curve?**

PayPal will act as any of your payment cards which you add to Curve Pay - just sign into your PayPal account via the Curve app and you're ready to start spending!

To get set up, you'll first need a UK PayPal account with a bank account, or eligible payment card attached to your PayPal wallet (AMEX and VISA cards are not eligible). Then you'll be able to switch between paying with your PayPal balance, bank or any of these cards at any time from the level of the PayPal app. You can find the steps to add your account [here](/managing-your-paypal-account-with-curve-rJbFlWIyp).

You'll also be able to pay using both the physical Curve card and your smartphone's digital wallet (e.g. Curve Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay).

## **How is PayPal different from my other payment cards?**

PayPal has the same functionality as all your other payment cards in the Curve app, such as moving transactions and the ability to keep earning rewards on eligible purchases when you checkout using Curve with PayPal selected in-app\*. This is with the exception of the following transactions - you'll be unable to use your PayPal account for:

*   ATM withdrawals 
*   Transactions that fall under the MCC 6012 (Financial institutions and credit repayments)
*   Transactions that fall under the MCC 7995 (Betting, wagering, lottery, gambling tickets or chips)
*   Transactions that fall under the MCC 6540 (POI funding transactions)
*   Transactions that fall under the MCC 6051 (Quasi cash)
*   P2P payments e.g. monzo.me, paypal.me
*   Making PayPal Credit or PayPal "Pay in 3" repayments
*   Transactions that fall under the MCC 6211 (Securities Brokers/Dealers)
*   Transactions that fall under the MCC 4829 (Money Transfer)

## **Who is this available for?**

PayPal in the Curve wallet is only available to customers with UK PayPal accounts.

## **Can I access all the benefits of PayPal through Curve?**

You'll be able to continue earning your credit card rewards on eligible purchases when you checkout using Curve with PayPal selected in-app\*. If you're on a premium Curve tier you can even get extra [rewards](/curve-rewards-HkQzLSi3_) 🤑

Pay in 3 is also not available through Curve as it requires PayPal to be selected at checkout.

## Am I still covered by PayPal Purchase Protection?

When making transactions using your PayPal account through Curve, you are not covered by PayPal's Buyer Protection Program as the transaction is not processed through PayPal directly..

However, as the purchase will be processed via Curve, you'll be covered under [Curve Customer Protection](https://www.curve.com/en-gb/legal/curve-customer-protection/) instead! ✅

This means that if for any reason you're unhappy with a purchase for the following reasons:

    **Goods and services defective**

    **Counterfeit goods**

    **Merchant failed to refund**
    
    **
*   **
    
    **Duplicate charge**
