## **What is the Curve Credit card?**

Our latest product provides you with all the benefits of Curve alongside a credit facility!

With the Curve Credit card you can still add all your underlying debit and credit payment cards to your wallet as usual, the main difference is you'll have access to an additional card (the Flex card) in the wallet which allows you to complete purchases with credit provided by Curve Credit.

##

## **How does the Curve Credit card work?**

When you use your Curve Credit Card “auto-pay” will collect the payment from the card you have selected in your Curve Wallet, or if applicable the card that results from a smart rule or our anti–embarrassment feature.

We typically authorise the payment on your underlying card as part of your purchase. The payment is collected within a few days so there is no need to set up a monthly bank transfer and you don’t build up a balance or incur interest on your Curve Credit Card when using the auto-pay feature.

You may have the option to enable our Flex instalments product with the Curve Credit Card.

Flex allows you to turn purchases into interest bearing instalment loans either by using the Flex Card in your Curve wallet, or swiping on a purchase and selecting Flex.

It is not mandatory to enable and use Flex in order to be able to use the Curve Credit Card with the auto-pay feature.

## **What is the difference between the Curve Credit card and the Flex card?**

The Curve Credit card acts similarly to your Curve Debit card, but is seen as a credit card by merchants regardless of the payment card you have selected in-app.

The Flex card is a payment card that is available in your wallet after you sign up to a Curve Credit card and enables you to make purchases using credit provided by Curve Credit.

In order to have a Curve Flex card, you first need a Curve Credit card - once you have a Curve Credit card, you will then see the Flex card appear in the carousel of your Curve wallet and you'll be prompted to activate it.

The Flex card acts like any of your underlying payment cards which you can select in the wallet of the Curve app, allowing you to make use of your provided credit using the Curve Credit card. This means if you were to select a different underlying payment card in you wallet such as a debit card and paid using your Curve Credit card, you won't use up any of your Curve credit limit!

##

## **Can I have both a Curve Debit and a Curve Credit card?**

Unfortunately you're unable to have both a Curve Debit and a Curve Credit card, as customers can only have one Curve card at any time. Rest assured both types of accounts have mostly the same benefits with the exception of Curve Debit customers not having Section 75 protection.

You'll be able to tell if you have a debit or a credit card by looking at the physical card where "debit" or "credit" will be visible on the front and back of the card. In addition to this, if the artwork of your Curve card in-app doesn't say "debit", then you have a credit card. Another way of knowing if you have a credit card is if you have the "Flex card" in the wallet, as only credit customers have access to this.

## **Why was I rejected for the Curve Credit card?**

On the occasion your application for the Curve Credit card is unsuccessful, there are a few reasons which may help you understand this outcome:

### **Poor credit history**

We were unable to accept you at this moment in time due to your personal credit history. The data we use for our credit assessments is from Equifax. If you contact Equifax they'll be able to provide you with your credit report, and you'll be able to find out why you haven't been accepted for the Curve Credit card.

### **Personal information mismatch**

We were unable to approve your application for the Curve Credit card due to insufficient information. Specifically, this was due to the fact Equifax was unable to provide sufficient information to assess your application.

This is usually due to to an error such as having entered annual rather than monthly salary or typos in your personal information such that your data could not be matched by Equifax.

### **Insufficient data**

We were unable to approve your application for the Curve Credit card due to insufficient information. Specifically, this could be due to the fact that the information we received on your application either from yourself or from Equifax was insufficient to process your application. This could be because Equifax does not hold information on your credit history or there is an answer missing in your application. If you think you may have made a mistake in your application, please provide us with the correct information and we'll try to reprocess your application. If you think the data held by Equifax may be incorrect please contact Equifax directly. Please feel free to reapply for the Curve Credit card once your credit record has been corrected.

If you'd like to find out more about why you were rejected, please contact the Support team via the in-app chat.

## **What is my credit limit?**

Once you've been approved for a Curve Credit card, you'll be able to activate your Flex card in the wallet. You can then access your credit limit of £250, repayment dates and other details within the app.

Remember you can continue spending with your Curve Credit card even if you have reached your spending limit on your Flex card, by selecting a different underlying funding card in the "Wallet" section of the app.

## **Does this affect my credit score?**

Not immediately! When you first sign up for a Curve Credit card, your credit score won't be affected as we only run a soft credit check.

However, if at a later date you decide you want to use the "Pay Later" functionality, we'll run a hard credit check.

##

## **Can I have a Curve Credit card and a Flex loan at the same time?**

Yes! You can have both a Curve Credit card and a Flex loan at the same time.

##

## **What transactions can I make using the Curve Credit card?**

There's no change in the types of transactions you can make with the exception of "Fronted" transactions. You will not be able to complete any transactions using the following MCCs:

*   6012 - _Financial Institutions_

*   9311 - _Taxes/Government Payments_

*   9399 - _Taxes/Government Payments_

* 6051 - _Quasi-cash, currency, money orders, travellers cheques, debt repayment, loan repayment, lease payment, mortgage companies (not money transfer/non-financial institution)_

This is because these types of transactions don't typically accept credit cards as a payment method. Instead you will need to generate a one time use Curve debit card to make these transactions. Find out more about how to do this [here](/curve-fronted-rkuEB_2Iu).

##

## **Am I covered by Section 75?**

Yes! If you make an eligible transaction using your Curve Credit card you're covered under Section 75. You can read more about Section 75 [here](/am-i-covered-by-section-75-of-the-consumer-credit-act-r1rOS_hUu).
